The last time I can say I enjoyed working out or looked forward to it was back in high school. College was filled with everything not good for my body. I moved out to Chicago 5 years ago at about 195, within 2 years I was 238. Last year I came to a realization I was a piece… did some diets and dropped about 20-25 lbs but still not in shape at all. I started back working out doing boot camp and paying for a trainer since nov, dec of last year and was feeling great. After seeing my friends rave about CrossFit, I was excited to try CrossFit. From the first couple workouts I knew it was something I would enjoy. I don’t know if I’ll ever be fittest but knowing I get better each time is a great feeling of accomplishment. Each day I look at the blog to see the workout and see which I am giong to enjoy or which one I will enjoy when its over. My goal from the start is to be able to wear just a loin cloth at my wedding. I’ve got 4 more months to go. It’s cutting it close but I can do it. CrossFit Chicago makes me enjoy getting healthier/fitter. I love the classes as it helps motivate me. Everyone is there rooting for you to get that one extra pullup or one more push press (with the right form of course). This is something that works for me.
