    Let’s be sure to watch the video on hip extensions vs back extensions again http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CrossFit_GHD.wmv and note the difference. i won’t name any names but i definitely saw some hip extensions on Michael yesterday. Let’s work on this like anything else we consider a weakness

    dragon – i know my form was off. my hamstrings were hurtin the first set and my back was hurting way too much to have been doing them properly. any way you can repost that link? it’s not opening on my computer.

    ahh the filthy fifty. my least favorite WOD. ill have to tackle it next year as i wont be in tonight. princesshands, this could be a good one to face off on…what do you think?

    Ooooh the filthy fifty. I did that one last week and it was a fun one! Today I did another killer of a workout over here at CrossFit Eugene.

    Complete as many rounds as possible 20 minutes of:
    5, Thrusters
    7, Hang Powercleans
    10, Sumo Deadlift High-pull

    55#, 8 rounds + 7 HPC

    Rudy, I do remember the workout; its one of many that give me anxiety=) Happy to improved in 3 wks with all the junk I have been eating.

    I’ll be flying in on Friday and will attempt to makes Saturdays workout, yay=)

    Here is my filthy fifty from last week:

    Filthy Fifty: 25:39
    24″ box jumps
    1/2 pood kettlebell swings
    25# push press (way too light)
    14# wall ball
    subbed singles for double unders.

    Alex, good call on the video. I was definitely banging out hip extensions rather than back extensions. I had seen the video before but watching it again was good, I somehow never notice the placement of the hip pad, I have been setting up the GHD all wrong for proper back extensions! Thanks for the continued correction.

    As for the rest of these posts, you guys are motivating the hell out of me! I kinda want to come back in at 4:00 and the Filthy again! (But only kinda!)

    Final post before the workout. I’ll be in a little before 3:30 today. We will have staggered start due to the nature of the workout. So you will be partnered up with someone close to your ability level to give you a good push. See you guys there.

    30:19 – shaved over 5 minutes off my previous time: 12# wall ball. Now, champagne.

    33:39: 24″ box jump this time. Sub tuck jumps for dbls. Had a spill and racked both knees on last rep of box jumps and all the wheels came off from there. Also had calf cramping. Not a good way to end the year. Did save over 2 minutes from last time some how. Had alot of breaks.

    Only goal was to go sub 20 today. Never realized how much harder the 24″ box jumps are than the 20″ jumps. Burpees and KTE’s were slow, but everything else felt pretty decent. Good early crew tonight.

    20:01. are you kidding me 2 seconds??!! pretty disappointing but not really. slow points were those damn back extensions, wall balls, and of course burpees. double unders weren’t bad and i had a minute to do them to et sub 20 mins. i got 20 then struggled with 21-23 then got the rest in a row so that 21-23 is where my 2 secs was i guess. gonna drown my sorrow in oreos and take tomorrow off.

    Loved this workout. First time doing it.

    Box jump: Did 18″ box, felt too easy. Use 20″ next time.
    KTEs were slow. I stood on a box to reach the bar and tapped my feet in between each rep. Should try to swing free of the box next time.
    Push press: 30#. I re-racked the bar twice while catching my breath. Want to do unbroken next time.
    Wall ball: 8#. A little scrambled in the setup – planned to use 12#. But even with 8# some of my throws were a little low.
    Burpees: Super slow motion.

    29:47, almost exactly a two minute improvement. 25 box jumps were jump-ups and the other 25 were step-ups (like last time). Next time will try to be less anxious and do all jumps. 25 lb KB, 30 lb push press, 8 lb wall ball targeting the “F bomb.”

    Rudy, thanks for keeping me on a good fitness track over the last several months, despite my chaotic schedule of work + grad school.

    Wow…I forgot how filthy this truly is. The kettlebells were unbroken, last time it was 30-15-5 so I feel good about that. Burpees were pitiful. Wall ball was 10-10-10-5-5-5-5. Double unders were great, I made up a lot of time. I strung 16 together. Felt good all in all, if I can say that…

    I hate the filthy fifty. I’ve always hated the filthy fifty. HOWEVER, going up against Kurt certainly pushed me harder than last time (one on one vs dragon). I thought I might catch up to Patrick when I hit the wall balls, but there was no way. Burpees were awful. Double unders remain my achilles heel.
