Practiced a clean & jerk ladder for a comp next week:

    EMOM
    20 du, 3 clean & jerk at 145-165-185-205-225
    20 du, 2 clean & jerk at 235#-245#-255#(f 2nd rep)
    then
    1rm clean & jerk
305# clean (pr) but no jerk as i cut off my air supply standing up on the clean. used the split clean stance for all and it may be the way to go while i get my front squat stronger

    +

4 rounds, new round every :90
    5 kb snatch/arm @ 2 pood
    5 bar muscle ups

Bar mu’s felt way better than when i did them earlier in the week. kip was strong, smooth, and efficient

8am for the The Old Man today!

Good to be in the small old space

3 way for today’s WOD and it was so sexy!

Teamed up with Matt and Spencer.

    5 rounds of
    10 pull-ups
    10 burpees
    10 KBS at 1.5 pood
    10/leg lunges

Everything was unbroken and smooth. Good fun WOD to end the week.

Can still feel the 2 weeks of drinking and eating like a fool but starting to feel better day by day.

Dropped 4 pounds so far; 6 more to go next week.

  4. terry L. says:

    @ Dylan,
Great to be back with you on our Saturday morning partner wods, just like old times. Sorry Dyl for slowing you down, but it hurt me more because i didn’t get much of a break between sets.

  5. Fish says:

Team SugarTits brought in the W today at a solid 18:31 Rx’d.

Karen and I both appreciated the smooth kindness of the upstairs pull-up bar, and were able to go unbroken whayy more than usual.

  6. Gina P says:

Camp g’Ina…as in (jy-nah)…..with Adam C of course

15:20….it was difficult focusing with Adam’s pecs looking so sexy

  7. Dan B says:

Team SBU (South Bend Ultimate) finished in 19:20. Thanks to Sheehan for partnering with me so it wasn’t worse! Burpees are still the bain of my existence…

  8. Chris L says:

Teamed up with Keith at 11am – 19:11

First time I was able to string some kipping pull ups together, did it in the first two rounds.

  9. Bryce says:

Partnered up with Erin on this one.

    13:44

Great push from Tony and Radin on this. Wasn’t ready to work that hard this morning, and Erin didn’t help out much keeping the rests long.

  10. Jamison says:

Team Dpop ‘n Bicep brought it in around 17:30. Rx’d. I think I need a rest day.

  11. Emi says:

Team Summers Eve with Meg. Not sure on time 19:45?ish Huge shout out to Meg on her pull-ups! No assistance needed for you. No more band for you too ;)

  12. alex says:

Snatch, build to a heavy single – 265# – 275#(fx2). Actually didn’t feel so hot as I started but I didn’t fail until I got to 275# so ended up being solid work. Barbell started to dominate me on 275# so on a day where I feel good I should get it

The ambassador & I ventured to cfnmb one more time before rejoining the cold tomorrow. They do partner wods on Saturdays too apparently, we did a fun one today:
    Teams of 3
1500m row- rower can only pull while the other 2 are in handstand holds
150 partner wall balls (throw them to each other in 3s)
150 situps- guy doing situps only moves while the other 2 are hanging from the bar. The situps were the easy part.
    50 m truck tire flip
    400m each relay run.
Took my team about 28 minutes. The ambassador’s team finished couple of minutes later. Really fun wod & boy it’s nice to run outside in 75 degrees at 9am!
Back at cfc in a couple of days.

  14. Tony says:

Team Steveland Cleamer tried our best to keep up with Erin and Bryce, but in the end Radin and I fell ten seconds short — a mere one second per round! — finishing in 13:54. Our team name really should have been Body Weight Express because this was tailor made for the two of us. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s 8 feet tall, Bryce’s jumping lunges were a hell of a lot faster / more efficient than my walking lunges… lesson learned.

PS: can we have team names each Saturday?

PPS: No Moniker, handstand holds while someone else rows? That sounds awful. Which means I’m sure we’ll see it on a Saturday sometime soon.

  15. Nikki Y says:

Team Nikki & Caitlyn today. I fail and didn’t get a read on our time. 20 something?

Major thanks to Caitlyn though for helping me with my pull ups – especially since I was still kipping!

  16. Anjali says:

Had a great day at Day 1 of the L1 cert this weekend!
For those that haven’t done it, it is an incredible opportunity to learn and improve! Who doesn’t love that?

    The day ended with Fran
    Rx’ed, 9:10.
    Thrusters were: 10-6-5/7-4-4/3-3-3
    Pullups were: 5-5-5-3-3/5-5-5/4-3-2

    1:45 PR
May have been in the 8′s sans the wiggling around lots of peeps to get to the pull up bar. Still, next time sub 8.
    Looking forward to tomorrow!

  17. Brett raz says:

Teamed up with Scott & Dave, as Scott & I went simultaneously against each round for some very competitive rounds. His pull-ups were faster each time as I was always playing catch-up. One day I will get efficient butterflies.
Not sure our time as a team.
Nice work to Kelly and Adam for handling a humongous 11 am class. It was a logistical nightmare in the old space but they somehow made it work.
I am envisioning a lot of heavy barbell work in our future next week. this has been the little guy’s wet dream programming this week.

  18. JGIII says:

    Yes Brett, it has been.

  19. Kitty says:

I haven’t posted what I do on my non-box days recently, so here goes…2 hour Astanga Power Yoga today. This is the longest yoga class that I’ve ever done, and it was really good. Headstands away from the wall, handstand holds, backward somersaults, 88 vinyasa/pushups, 15 minutes of sun salutations, balance and stretching poses, and a fast moving class. I’ve done a ton of yoga and love yoga for the same reason as Crossfit…There is always something to work on or completely new to learn, and today was definitely one of those days with a different class/instructor.

  20. Joy says:

@Anjali, awesome job on Fran ! Enjoy yourself and kick ass on the test !

  21. JustinW says:

Team Old and in the Way finished this one in 20 something today.

Anyone recommend a box in NYC, preferably midtown area? I need to be there Mon-Thurs this week.

  22. Matsumoto says:

Team “All Day I Think About Cake” (Emily and Cristina)

Sunday WOD, partner assisted pull-ups, 1 pood kb swings, finished at 20:43. It was nice having a rest break in between rounds. Tried to sprint through each round but felt winded after burpees and kb felt really heavy for some reason. Nice to see Christina back from her long hiatus, props to her for taking this WOD on after 8 months off.

  23. Alexa says:

    My biceps are sore.

  24. Kitty says:

Partnered with Mark for Team Markitty’s (not sure of proper spelling). Great partner and finished in 18:38, I think. I had partner assisted pullups, but think we did everything unbroken. I felt a little light-headed towards the end of the workout and then nauseous once WOD complete. Post: pukie PR (first time ever post WOD). My body is still transitioning back to reality after holiday hiatus from CFC.
